Hi
Why not use the store and forward capabilities of the birds to forward
positionreports and messages.
The forwarded positions can be reduced to 1 position per station because its
not realtime.
message forwarding can be in the style of email forwarding:
use satfwd as to call and start the message with the call you are forwarding
to.
this may not be very useful in the usa but there are a number of country's
where internet gateways are not allowed or to expensive.
this would mean either a seperate program for the forwarding or an adition
to the existing programs.
from what i understand from the protocoll discription this would mean that
all programs that are going to be used for sat up/down loading need either
hostmode or kiss support
