[ao16aprs] Baycom modem mod?

Good evening,

I am curious if anyone has managed to modify the Baycom modems and/or
associated software for Manchester encoding?  It seems with the sub $70
price tag, they would be an excellent entry level modem for APRS uplink
to the pacsats.  

I have one I used for a while with an HT and a palmtop computer.  I have
an under used FT5100 I'd dedicate to the task if the modem mod was
available.
