As you know, this program runs on a DOS PC and automatically feeds Satellite PASS data to all D700 and D7 HT's and Mobiles in the area so that they need no prior knowledge to operate through any of the 7 or so FM satellites... APRSdata also responds to QDOS Queries to provide local information about the nearest objects, locations, or information included in the Query... such as HAM Stores, Wrecks, Digis, Gates, Hospitals, EOC's, CLubs, nets, etc.. Here are the new changes in this version: 1) It can be configured to automatically convert raw remote WX stations data to APRS format so that those stations will SHOW on D7 and D700 mobiles in the area. Currently Mobiles wont see this info... 2) Other minor tweaks: a) Now has a NEXT (-) command so you can see the "previous" 2 hours of satellite passes (that you may have missed) b) Fixes bug that caused two APRSdata servers in overlaping areas fromn canceling each others Satellite Objects. It will be held Friday, Sept 22, 2000 in Orlando. More info on the conference is available at http://www.tapr.org/dcc This is as close as APRS comes to a national convention, past years have drawn most of the movers and shakers within APRS. If you love APRS, you'll love the Symposium! The APRS Symposium will run roughly from 1PM to 7PM, exact times to be determined. Undoubtably the usual suspects will be presenting, but I especially want to encourage people that haven't presented before to do so. Anyone (including the usual suspects, I will not chase you down this year) that will be there and wishes to present should notify me within the next week, including the topics you wish to present and the amount of time you would like. If you aren't going to DCC but have something to share, consider submitting it for publication in the proceedings anyway, it is a good way to get information published. Deadline is August 7, details on submission are available at the above DCC web site. See you there! Time to start making your travel plans and thinking about what to publish for the upcoming 19th Annual ARRL and TAPR Digital Communications Conference. The ARRL and TAPR Digital Communications Conference is an international forum for radio amateurs in digital communications, networking, and related technologies to meet, publish their work, and present new ideas and techniques for discussion. Presenters and attendees will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and learn about recent hardware and software advances, theories, experimental results, and practical applications. The Digital Communications Conference is not just for the digital expert, but for digitally-oriented amateurs of all levels of experience. The 2000 ARRL and TAPR Digital Communications Conference will be held September 22-24, 2000 in Orlando, Florida. This year's conference location is just minutes away from the Orlando International Airport (MCO). Not only is the Digital Communications Conference technically stimulating, it is a weekend of fun for all who have more than a casual interest in any of the ham digital communications modes. This includes networkers, sysops, software writers, modem designers, and digital satellite communications enthusiasts. The ARRL and TAPR Digital Communications Conference is for all levels of digital operators -- a must conference to attend to get active on a national level. Now, more than ever, amateur radio needs this great meeting of the minds, since it is important that we demonstrate a continued need for the frequency allocations we now have by pushing forward and documenting our achievements. The ARRL and TAPR Digital Communications Conference is one of the few ways to record our accomplishments and challenge each other to do more. Area Attractions The Orlando Florida area is famous for its attractions and vacation spots.  Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World (just to name a few) are within 15 minutes of the hotel.
