Then this repeater will translate your Mic-E packet burst and retransmit it on the APRS frequency in your area which in most cases will be 144.39. You can also run your Mic-E directly on 144.39 and set it up so that it will transmit automatically at your predetermined time interval. In this way it will act like a normal tracker, except that it is not capable of being set up to respond to RELAY. In my normal mode of operation using my Mic-E tracker, I have a special memory channel set to monitor my normal home repeater and have a big offset programmed on this channel so that when it transmits, it will transmit on 144.39. When I hear someone calling me on my home repeater, I press my CALL Channel button, turn off the Mic-E unit and hold a normal voice repeater conversation. When done, I go back to my special memory channel and turn the Mic-E back on. This method works really well for me. The only drawback is, that your Mic-E unit can not monitor for a blank spot on 144.39 before it transmits. This will cause some of the tracker transmissions to die due to collisions. This is a minor drawback that I can live with. Of course, even with the Mic-E unit hooked up but turned off, you can still use your radio as you normally do in voice mode. Hope this answers your questions.
